Because I wish to ignore all contact from a person on BBO
that screen name is flagged as an enemy.
However, that name can still send me BBO email which I must
see when i first login.

My suggestion: Before showing email, scan the enemy list and prevent
those from enemy's being shown.
Respectfully

Seems a reasonable request.

Additionally, if the individual is being a pest, try reporting to abuse.
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

Yes, but what if he wants to ask for apologise? Do you want to deny him the possiblity to save his immortal soul?

Not that humans can save souls by forgiving another, but yes.

Still, if you have your email address (or any other contact info) visible in BBO, these enemies can also harass you that way at least once.

My conclusion is I agree--enemy mail should be blocked. And that eternal torture is too good for some jerks. :--)

I didnt meaned save your soul by forgiving, but I said save ones soul by asking to be forgiven.

There is the Yom Kippur-period now, you know. During this weak you should try to be forgiven for your faults against others.

Who knows, perhaps some of your enemies will want to make peace now... :)

You can still see mail from enemy. But if you use the new web BBO, you can manage your mailbox nicely so you're not forced to read the message immediately upon login. (Rather, you see a mailbox new mail entry with the sender name).

I'm aware of this all too well. That's why I asked if it had been resolved. ;)

Personally, I do not like the new web interface, so I don't use it, but thanks for the information. I did not know that could be done. :)

Actually the web-client automatically blocks all BBO mail from enemies. It also makes it easy to mark a person who sends you an offensive BBO mail message as an enemy.

BBO is no longer making any non-critical changes to the Windows client, so there's no reason to expect something like this to be resolved there.

Thanks, but I don't really see how asking if something got resolved has anything to do with having an expectation of it being done in the future.

Considering that the problem was originally presented nearly three years ago (and probably before that as well), it was entirely possible that it had been fixed in a prior release and I simply didn't know how to make it happen.

And btw, I would consider this to be a somewhat critical issue anyway. It allows something to occur on the site that is offensive in nature. But that's just my opinion.

I did not know this.

Evidently, Rain didn't either!!

Thanks for the info, maybe that will encourage me to try the web interface more.
