I'm looking for some recommendations on a good book(s) on leads as well as defensive play for an intermediate level player. Any input would be appecaited, thanks.

Opening lead specific:
Mike Lawrence, "Opening Leads"

Defense in general:
Either
Bill Root, "How to Defend a Bridge Hand"
or
Eddie Kantar, "Eddie Kantar Teaches Modern Bridge Defense" & "Eddie Kantar Teaches Advanced Bridge Defense". These two also available in CD-ROM format if you prefer interactivity, although that way is a lot more expensive.

Then read
Hugh Kelsey, "Killing Defence at Bridge"
one of the best bridge books of all time.

Try Tony Sowter's "Opening Leads in Bridge" - excellent book and not too long at 127 pages.

The best I've read:
R. Ewen, Opening leads

Runners-up:
E. Blackwood, Complete book on opening leads
Mike Lawrence, Opening leads
Hugh Kelsey, Test your opening leads

Blackwood is the best for intermediate/advanced level. Others are expert stuff. For beginner you can try Kantar's defense books.
