Haven't seen anything in the BBO schedule yet. Is there likely to be any BBO coverage?

Last time I heard anything (a couple of months ago), Hervé Lustman told me that we will be broadcasting from the Rosenblum Cup. I also know that we have at least one volunteer operator. That's about it at this point. Maybe Fred knows more.

One thing is certain. We do not have a definite schedule, and consequently we can't list anything on our vugraph web page.

The WBF is planning on using BBO for its onsite (audience) vugraph show. A side effect of this will be that these sessions will be shown on BBO as well.

Of course WBF will be welcome to present vugraph during whatever sessions they want, but traditionally the WBF has offered vugraph during only the last few days of the Rosenblum and during the last day of the World Open Pairs.

It would not surprise me at all if there are volunteers in Verona who are willing and able to act as BBO vugraph operators during sessions that will not be presented by the WBF for their live audience at the playing site. Of course, even if there are such volunteers, they will only be able to broadcast if the WBF allows this. I would expect the WBF to welcome such an initiative, but it is always possible that security (or other) concerns will prevent this.

I know the French Bridge Federation is planning on 2-table coverage of all 3 of their teams (Open, Womens, and Seniors) during the European Championships in Warsaw in August. It would not surprise me if they are planning something similar in Verona, but I have no real reason to believe that this will happen (or that it won't happen).

If and when I learn more I will make a post.

Finally, we have got something substantial to offer. Take a look at:

We may well be able to show more, but it will all depend on operator availability at the venue. As I am writing this post Fred is on his way to Verona; he may be able to tell us more within 24-48 hours.

I am quite hopeful because we have quite a few non-playing BBO'ers on site.
