Think whereagles articulated the mainstream view (FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING?!)

Depends on the opponents' methods. In most cases I prefer the mainstream view of "two places to play." However, against opponents who frequently open random 8-9 hcp hands, I think 2NT natural has a lot going for it. This auction is then a lot more like 2♠-P-P to me.

Hey, I can be mainstream if I want :) Next time we have a BBO pool, instead of bidding my own way, I'll try and guess what people are going to bid and bid that. I'm sure I'll get 550/600 or better :P

If anybody would like to place a bet, I'm better against. And I don't think that constitutes as gambling.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
