Don't understand this, you have a monster and you don't double 7NT? :P :P

Partner opened 1. With that hand he should pull to 8, obviously.

Scoring: IMP

1H-(P)-7NT All P

I was West, guys, and all I had left to do was to pick up a lead. Not that it mattered: hearts were 4-2, but clubs were obligingly 3-3.
It was not the best of grand slams, even if I can understand S  They had both the wrong Js, and none of the right one.
In the other room, N did not open, and my teammates stopped in 6NT (wrongly, IMHO: when you've 38 points, you should be in 7NT). Oh, well...

Why is this not a decent grand? 3-3 hearts (or JT dub) or 3-3 clubs or a / squeeze. I calc it at 70% with all the bits and pieces.

I agree, odds must be well above 50%. Should be bid in both IMP and MP, IMHO

I love the science of the auction. Brilliant!

With that said, I like grand here a lot. Lots of chances to make.
