Hi,

I am planning to have a practice session using teamspeak in the next week or so, the more people who can help test the better.
If you didn’t participate in the first session: we are hoping to run live audio teaching sessions “think with ___” etc on BBO using the Teamspeak software.
http://forums.bridge...showtopic=11711

There were some problems in the first session with mic’s being permanently on or off that need to resolved - please load the software and test your mic.

Load teamspeak client software:

http://www.goteamspe...?page=downloads

Run TeamSpeak:

1. Click connection
2. Quick connect
Server address: 216.210.109.237
Password: bbolesson
Leave all other fields blank
3. Click connect

Change your Mic setting to ‘Push to talk’
1. Click settings
2. Click Sound input/output devices
3. Check ‘Push to talk’ and click set
4. Choose and press a key that will be used to activate voice (best to use alt or ctrl)
5. Click ‘Activate Local Test Mode’
6. Press the key and you should hear your voice relayed

[b]If your Mic does not work at all try this link:

http://forum.goteams...read.php?t=1315

If this doesn’t work try getting some help from Free. note he is in the middle of exams and should be spending more time studying than on bbo.
:) Good luck.

The teamspeak server runs on my pc and I will try to keep it running as much as possible.
If I’m not on BBO you can still connect to test your Mic and maybe get another bbo/teamspeak user to complete the test.

I will give people with a working Mic a teamspeak userid so when we come to run another session I can hopefully minimize the problems we had with sound.

I will post a date when I have one ;) I would like people to test their connection before so any problems can be sorted out now. I want to use this session time to deal with any more surprises and test capacity, voice quality.

The TS Server is up and running again after a few days of unreliable service.
(ggrrrr PC's :P )

I will leave it up and running as much as I can so you can test your connection and mic. :D

great idea. And for those without mic/headphones, try your local $.99 store. I bought a nice one at a $.99 store, and it sounds great!

You don't even need a mic, since you won't be allowed to talk. Otherwise this might become a mess. Listening will be enough

Correct, you dont even need a headset , PC speakers would be ok to listen.
Those who have working and tested mics will be able to ask questions at *appropriate* times.

an update: it is best to use the ALT or CTRL keys for voice activation, letter keys cause interference.

I am still looking for someone to host the first live session so we can try it with more than 2 or 3 people....any volunteers?

There is not enough interest to continue with this. If anyone wants to try again in future I will keep the notes.
