Scoring: IMP

Do you act? If so, how? What is your estimation of gain/loss for your action?

Hi everyone

I pass.

Some will bid here and get a good result. That should not happen too often.

Meckwell plays 1M-4M might be normal 5+ trumps 'or' a weak NT type of hand.

They recently 'plucked' a +800 penalty out of thin air when one pair bid anyway.

I think that this method was listed with the FD methods for 'simple' Precision.

Shortly after reading it about this method, I switched to this dual meaning tactic.

My current method is a Big Club system.

If the 'dual meaning' method gains more widespread use, bidding with the

example hand should be greatly reduced.

Regards,
Robert

This is really tough, I think I'll pass and hope for only +50, if I had to act it would be 4NT, but -300 when I had easy +50 is a very bad result.

at MP it would be closer, yet I think I would pass.

The only actions to consider here are pass and double. Double isnt penalty here but partner wouldnt take it out unless he has a shapy hand, which is exactly what we want.
The risk is ofcourse that partner is weak.

Da da da da......that's the power of ....SPADES.....pass and try to take 4 tricks (which is what you might lose in a 5H contract....)

the 4 bid is preemptive, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily weak (hope those 2 things aren't mutually exclusive)... i can't bid here, pass

Pass

It is far from clear that you have been fixed. Even if you have been, once fixed, stay fixed. Doubling is for adrenaline-junkies. 5 is for the terminally suicidal.
