Scoring: XIMP

You bid to 4 and West leads the 7. You win the K as East plays the 6. You play a small spade from dummy and East shows out. Well that solves any guesses there.

You play the J from hand and West plays the 10 and immediately the A.

Director! You have the usual options. You can accept the lead, or you can reject it. If you reject the lead, the A becomes a major penalty card.

What do you do and how do you play from here on?

You reject the lead, and immediately play on . You play as many rounds as necessary to force him to pitch the A, but not one more. You then cash the , to pitch the .

The exact play from here depends on how many he held, but game is assured if you do not get greedy, and it is possible for (more) misdefence to let an overtrick sneak through... but I wouldn't count on it :(

Yes indeed. This will be a short thread. lol

You cash two hearts and the A must be played. You then play three rounds of clubs which all hold up, while you discard a diamond. You ruff a diamond and ruff a heart and ruff a diamond and make an overtrick in the wash. Not sure if it was misdefense or not. That 9 is a big card when the 10 has been blown.

Anyway, well spotted Ben and Mike.
