But after further analyzing the hand, it seems an immediate heart lead from dummy is better. A good guess in heart allows South to discard two small clubs from dummy and cross-ruff for 10 tricks.
Also, it seems a bit strange that opponents did not lead trumps. There is a good chance that trumps are not 3-2. In that case, the early heart lead is the only line that gives a chance of making.

Otoh, the lead is a bit funny: I would have better expected hearts, the unbidden suit, of trumps.
