TDs: if you want subs in a lengthy tourney, send a message saying what stage the tournament is at!
This afternoon I saw requests for subs in a 25-board tournament. I tried to ask the TD what stage the tourney was at, but it was probably a playing TD as I got the "private chat..." not allowed message. Not surprisingly, I didn't sub.
If the software could be changed so that e.g. moving the mouse over a table on a tournament list showed what table/round that table was on, that would help (I made that suggestion once in the appropriate forum). But until then, TDs better make an announcement.

Subbing in long tournaments

I also frequently would like to find out how much time is left in a tournament. Sometimes I am waiting for someone who is playing, or want to sign up for another tournament with them, but don't know how much longer they will be. If kibs are not allowed, there is no way to find out. If you are not in the tournament and the name of the TD is not posted, there is no way to even find out who is TD to ask them.

The number of boards and pace of the tourney would be a good thing to add to the sub dialog box so people would know how long they are expected to be in as a sub.
