Changing a liight bulb

The conclusion is that no bridge player can change a light bulb. As a consequence, I have asked my cleaning lady to do it at the bridge centre. On one hand: she has been playing bridge for 3 years, on the other hand, however, she is definitely no bridge player.
But what does it all matter? She can change a light bulb, and the can clean the toilets because the light bulbs are lit!

Q: how many psychologists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: only one, provided that the light bulb really wants the change.

37, One to change it, one to post about it being changed on BBF, and 35 to argue on BBF over rather the correct Wattage was used, and if it was even necessary to change it in the first place.

What is the vulnerability?
Well, first the lightbulb itself is vulnerable - it cannot run; it cannot hide; it must stoically face unmoveable its fate.
Next, whoever is selected to change the lightbulb is vulnerable. The bulb may shatter, sending shards of glass flying to inflict serious damage to hand, eyes, and face. If a stepladder is needed, the ladder may tilt and the changer may fall and suffer grievous damage and bodily harm.
The socket itself is vulnerable; after the lightbulb is removed, all manners of crawling and flying insects may invade the vacated space, causing a short, setting a fire that burns down the bridge studio, placing all those who are playing at risk - so the players, too, are vulnerable.
As with anything in bridge - what's the vulnerability? - there is no simple answer.

In general, the answer is none. Only the TD can change a lightbulb. For example, if the lightbulb broke after the opps failed to pre-alert an unusually high voltage.
Now it's an interesting question if 110 V and/or 220 V should be considered unusual. But we have had several mega-threats on that issue already.

The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

It depends on experience. How often do they make light calls?

No need to, as all bridge players feel that they are brilliant enough.

They all can, at their own risk, as the Director should be called when an irregularity occurs.....
