3♠.

Why is 4♣ leaping michaels? - unless you are playing some of the MisIry stuff.

Close, 4♣ would be META not MisIry... but that is likely what Mishovnbg would bid with this hand.

4♣ is forcing, right? I think I'd bid that. I would prefer to have a better hand, though, and 3♠ is a reasonable alternative. Something to discuss with p.

I dont think 4C is forcing. But I do agree there is some merits to play 4C as non-leaping Michael. With a long club suit. you can jump to 5C.

Because that's our agreement... 4♣ = ♣+M, 4♦ = both Majors. The main problem is: is this hand strong enough for a leaping Michael's or not?

Very difficult decision but I think I would pass. I have a lot of defensive values in this hand so I don't think I have to take a violent action right now.

I care about the friends I have made on BBO. Also, I am extremely concerned about the environment/ ecology/ wildlife/ the little planet that we call Earth. How much more of the world's habitat and food supply for animals do we plan on destroying. How many more wetlands are we going to drain, fill, and build on? How many more sand dunes are we going to knock down in the interests of high-rise hotels or luxury homes?

The idea of 4C showing clubs and a major has some merit as these hands seem to be difficult to describe in std methods.

Although not quite the same situation, i had the following hand last night. RHO opened a weak 2H and I held the following: ♠ KQ9xxx, void, Ax, AQ98x. Reverse the black suit holdings and 4C leaping michaels seemed reasonable. But with the 6th spade I was leery of this bid and selected a simple 2S overall on the belief that, unless P could take some bid or lho raised hearts, I might be walking into a bid misfit. Turned out that discretion was the better part of valor on this particular occasion as it went 2H-2S-Pass-pass-pass. Partner tabled 10 red cards including QJT8x of hearts and 5 yucky diamonds. This such a hand was not unexpected once lho passed 2S. Lucky on this occasion. +110 was the limit of the hand (as I played it). Avoided huge loss due to misfit.

We play our leaping michaels calls as strong, and forcing through 4 of a major.

The subject hand is at least an A lite.

If we happen to play 4♣ as leaping michaels, and I happen to have the most similar hand to a text book LM I ever had I wouldn't doubt much of it.
