East passed, opponents are not happy.
Why did you pass?

Unless you are withholding information it appears that there was no infringement. Result stands.

That's what I told NS, who were unhappy that 5NT made (but volunteered no information about any UI).
I was wondering if anyone would ask East why they passed or West whether they had a method to stop in 5NT (such as bidding 5S to force 5NT). I thought it was inappropriate despite my curiosity.

Only my opinion of course.
OMG - I had a player (LHO) who explained MY agreements when her partner asked about our auction the other day.

I have a partner who simply cannot learn to merely ask "please explain" but will always proffer an explanation and ask if it is right. Very embarrassing.

I have a partner like that (not all the time but quite often). They also say, when asked to explain my bids " he should have...." when I would much prefer either "he has" or "he is showing". Change will not happen. OTOH it is possible I do things that partner doesn't like, unlikely as it may seem, so I work on my concentration on the play, which gets worse each year, instead.
