Club game today, I'll reveal our score after this hand.

Bridge should be fun!

Hmm - interesting. If I transfer to hearts, I have exclusion available. If I bid Stayman and partner has a 4 card major, I will also have exclusion available. But if I end up having to use Smolen, I might not end up with exclusion available. On the other hand, it's not clear exclusion is that useful given partner has a diamond stopper, and I could really want to know about the ♠Q.

I guess I go with 3♣. I am definitely making a slam try above 4M.

Also please see the extended version of Sweet Jane and also a very different version by the Cowboy Junkies who I finally got see in person earlier this year.

Not going to confuse the auction with exclusion, an accident waiting to happen.

3♦ tfr - 3♥ - 4♦ seems to fit the bill. Now it's up to partner to work out what I mean absent any prior agreement

At first sight I imagined the hand shown must be the 2NT wild side :) Nothing in our regulations against that, although most opponents and some TDs would get their knickers in a twist. I have not taken the plunge with a void yet, but on Fridays who knows.

We go through our majors ask with 5M4M, although it's not well suited to such a wide ranging 2NT and we will miss a clubs fit too.
