What does a pre-alert look like? Does it mean drawing attention to the specific section on your fully completed convention card at the start of the round?

The problem with 2S is, that it may not show the 5th spade, it is the cheapest bid,
for some it does, for some it does not, the question is, which bid says, I have nothing
to tell.
If it does not show the 5th spade, I would show the 6th club.

Oh well, the odds were it was the opponent's hand, if partner bids a F1 3d over 3c I rebid 3spades.

I could hardly have more than this since I did not open at the one level in first chair

pass. Opening 1c loses the spades, unless you are willing to bid up to 4s when partner inevitably bids 3n.

It was a joke between TDs.
Today as player I encountered an opening of "two spades" (both spoken and bid), immediately corrected to "no, two hearts" (both spoken and bid). I was going to give her partner a high vote for responding three hearts, but when she went to four and he turned out to have three small hearts and four strong spades I changed my mind.

Our regulations are skimpy about exactly how one should make an alert, let alone a pre-alert. I assume we are supposed to warn the opponents as soon as they arrive at table and ensure that nobody pulls out cards first. But yes, this certainly should be explicit in the convention card. That is in part my point. Do we really really need to tell our 7th set of opponents sitting down for 3 boards with us that we might open 1 in a suit with AKQxxxx(x) and nothing else?
The other equally futile case is an agreement to lead K from AK (although that is at least unusual here).
