Is premium bridge area actually popula

I played on General Brdige against players listed as having Premium so why play in regular area?

Most people want to play with and against others playing the same system and will choose a 'Club' where others play that system.
Why would anyone play in the Premium Lounge - I don't know why, maybe it makes them feel 'special'
