No. There are at least five reasons why this is not suitable for a weak two. The hand is too defensive, we are second seat, we are at unfavourable vulnerability, the side 4cM is a downside and the suit is of really poor quality. None of these in isolation are decisive, but combined they make it clear not to preempt. This is closer to a 1♦ opening, but I think I narrowly prefer pass.

I'll bid - slightly more inclined towards 2♣ (weak ♦, etc.) with one partner. If game is on our continuations can resolve the shape.

I echo everything David said except the part about opening 1D. I do occasionally open 10 hcp hands (not counting 10-13 1N which is routine) but I want at least some of my hcp in the suit I'm going to have to rebid on many auctions.

Agree with everything David said, would only maybe add in general I try to avoid preempts with side suit aces.

I did. Although reluctantly, because I don't share the distaste for a side 4cM (by agreement it is possible and partner can pick it up in the 2N ask if strong enough) and I would not open this 1D, my only LA is Pass.

If North was asleep or at unfavourable vulnerability East would have an easy decision despite a minimum of Pearson Points.
But here North throws in 3 clubs.

Not here. An awful agreement imo. For a lot of what I would, presumably mistakenly, thought obvious. As a simple one….your RHO must be sworn to silence for this to work. I play most of my bridge against people who enjoy bidding

No, I don't want to force to game with this hand. Yes, when it works, it works. When it doesn't (dealer has 10, or third seat is taking advantage of the pass and preempting strong, or...) partner has a couple of cards, and you might be down 2 (or 3) even without bad breaks that trigger a double. Your "suits" are empty - even missing 8s and 7s. Sure, your diamonds are strong, but that's the suit you're not showing.

Yes, I want action. Am I afraid of partner passing because of my void? Sure. I don't have the trump to lead to get that one off the board (and probably it isn't "one" on the board). But I expect to get 3 of my 4 control cards as tricks, and two trump tricks from partner (never mind a cashing side suit honour) will set this. +100 might not be best, but the same "aggressive third seat preempt" that you can make 4M even with a hand that would pass the double is going for 500 at least.
