MP, green vs red
Partner deals and passes and so does RHO.
You are dealt an inspiring collection that does not create a urge to move, even 3rd at green:
xx
A98x
K9xx
Q98
LHO opens 1C, pass, 1S, you pass again (right?), LHO fits at 2S and the bidding comes back with 2 passes.
Is X automatic, possible, pushy, or crazy?

I'd consider doubling after 1♠ given I have the unbid suits with equal length.

Yes, get in early.
It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.
Bridge should be fun!

I would double, but only the last time when it's in passout. I'd say it's possible, maybe pushy, not automatic.

Hi,
I would Pass.
The reason is simple, we are out gunned, you know it, they know it.
Maybe this is no winning strategy at MP.
With kind regards
Marlowe

I would X 1♠ - you can't be any stronger having passed in 3rd seat white vs red. If you X 1♠, you don't have to act later.

I would double, this is MP favourable.
Not certain that we are outgunned and quite prepared to take the related risk as always.

I don't think this is clear. I would double 1S if I were convinced that the hand was truly competitive. If opener is strong or responder is close to an opener, unless we have a profitable sacrifice, all I have done is help declarer play the hand. I will feel totally awful about double if LHO's next bid is a jump to 2NT. Partner would have likely led her longest red suit against notrump anyway. Now that they bid 2S, I will reopen with a double, automatic against competent opponents unless they are known to frequently raise on three.
