I definitely wish I am playing some system that contained the KSUpdated treatment where 1D-1M-2C is forcing, natural-ish but possibly this hand (and also some other hands about this strength without a real club suit).

Over 1D-2C, I bid 3C, which I prefer shows at least mild extras (so partner can judge whether or not to bypass 3N).

I thought it was clubs but if you are just bidding your hand , why didn't you raise clubs at your second bid?

You don't promise 5 or even 4 clubs

Also you don't deny 4H yes? So I bid my 4H

ok, back to my earlier question, how do you proceed after 3, shape or controls?

People never have problems after the full hand is revealed.

We would start:

1-2 (nat not GF)
2 (limited reverse, GF, enormous hands go via GF 2N) - 2N (better than 3N so 5+)
3 - 3
3 -

Partner likely has a 3235/4135 opening bid +, he knows we have 16-18 1453 or 0463

I guess opening 1N with a singleton is what happens before you discover an unbalanced .

Given what we have so far playing the latter:

1 - 1 GI - 1N 5m43s type hand
.. 2 extras asking for shape
.. various GI/SI hands

I play Acol weak NT so I open 1D and bid 1NT if partner responds 1S and 2H if partner bids 2C, or open 1NT if playing a strong NT.

If it goes 1D - 2C; 2H - 2NT, I would just bid 3NT if 2C is a normal 2/1 Acol bid.

No trump agreed yet

I would never have been in this auction having bid 1NT.

Here we were already very lucky to hear 2C.

1D-2C
2H-?

East shows 5D and 4H 11+Hcp.
Now west might rebid 3D and you are on the way to the Grand..

Whatever you do as West don't rebid 2NT..

Frankly JB the moment partner opens 1D you should be focused on looking for a grand slam the west hand is huge.

If East opens 1NT, show your clubs and look for the grand, any system this should be not difficult..

We didn't miss the grand, along with one other pair.

With this variant of an unbalanced
1 - 1 GI
1N 5m43s -2 extras, shape?
2 5 - 2 shortage?
2 short - 3m sets trumps GF/SI
Now trumps (I'd choose here) are set at the 3-level and you have the space to reach 7N
3 even KCs - 4 all KCs
4 singleton K - 4N K
7N counting the tricks

I think we would start:

1-2
2-3 rather than 2N although it's difficult to judge being able to see both hands, 3 shows 5+ and =3
3(cue)- 3(cue)
3N ( cue) - 4 (high card cue)
4 (kickback) - 5 (2+Q)
7

Don't think we'd sniff 7N on this auction as opener could be 3451 with similar honours and you could need the club ruff to set the suit up

The auction with 2N rather than 3 is easier

1-2
2-2N (similar would happen over 2 which is also possible)
3-4 (Kickback)
4N (2 without and not a spade void so 1453) - 5 (I have one of KQ and we have all the aces, bid 7 with the other)
6 (I have the diamond honour and K)-7N (even if you don't have J and they don't split I can count 13)
