I think Kaitlyn has persuaded me that it’s probably best to play north for the KJ of clubs. That, however, depends on your opponents. Against really strong defenders I think it core t to play the club Ace first, since strong defenders should be ducking the club 10 when holding Kxx. Indeed, there is a very good case for ducking from Kx. As we see from the posts here, doing so is going to result in a top board.

In most club games there probably won’t be anyone sitting South capable of ducking.
