It is often better when GiB sees no need for a sophisticated auction B-)
But how on earth can one go down (for a predictable 0% in a mainly human field) here ?

And yes I do recall @lorserker (now back on the job?) pointing out that thinking ahead is not the best skill of GiB, but surely even simulations (how many, please?) cannot endorse this line.

You need to have a Executive Latinum VIP membership to get the most advanced robots. Please forward your complete financial history and the first 60 months membership fee to me and I will make sure that you get on the list to use the super advanced robots.

As always, Johnu, your sense of humour brings a welcome spark to the Forum. However, if the hypothetical "super advanced robots" came from the GIB/GIBBO family I am afraid that the "Executive Latinum VIP membership" would be an extremely poor investment.

I am not convinced that the original head of family GiB would ever make this particular mistake - simulations must suggest losing the fourth heart, even at MP. I can only imagine it being due to a hopelessly small number of simulations or replacement of simulation with AI.

Agree with you about this.

That other example I posted (the 2-card ending), I am convinced that GIB from two years ago would never have blundered. I have spent hundreds of hours (maybe a thousand hours) playing with Bots on BBO. What happened that day was unparalleled.

Well there is play for 7.
It doesn't work but what Gibbo did was bizarre.
Cashed all the clubs which are the entries
then cash diamond so you are wide open in diamonds
Then doesn't even take the spade finesse which might make 7 if it works.
decides to quietly go down 1
but is silly if it play on spades first it probably makes 6 and has a chance for 7
Sarcasm is a state of mind

And I agree about that too.
Waiting for a response from lorserker.
