Well, Ive been opening 2M for the last 2 years which shows exactly 4 cards in the Major and a longer minor. Took a glance at the GCC chart ; now I wonder if this is illegal? Having 4 cards in the Major deems the opening a natural bid by the definition so good on that. I know I can open 1M with a 4 card suit and a longer side suit. So can I continue?

The GCC is quite a bit out of date.
However, the "ACBL Convention Charts" document does permit your bid

My reading is that this opening is Quasi-Natural (a bid at the two-level showing four cards in the suit) but not Natural (which requires five or more cards in the suit at the two-level or above). This makes it legal on the Open Chart and above (regardless of strength) but NOT on the Basic or Basic+ chart. In general that means it should be allowed in open events (but likely not in "gold rush" events or B/C/D events or other things with fairly low masterpoint limits).
The new charts are here.

The ACBL GCC chart was discontinued in 2018 and replaced by the current Basic/Basic+/Open/Open+ charts (since modified).

Technically no (if it were Artificial, it would be (*)). It is definitely Alertable (as is any Quasi-Natural opener that is not Announced (**)). If you pre-Alert anything, I'd add that to the list - I'm actually surprised, I would think that would be one of the things people would want to know in advance.
* I don't think this counts as a canapé *system*, but you might get arguments from others. See later advice.
** "Announcements are a form of Alerting", blah blah blah. You know what I mean.
