3n looks obvious. Soft values in the minors look bad for 4h.

3N absent special agreements l(ike Gazzuli or 2NT GF relay?) that would imply 55 majors.
After all, I do have minors well stopped with honors less suitable for suit contracts, and no fit for partner.

Does anyone expect more distribution from E? 6-5

0.35% even ignoring the existence of a 2 opening?
No, and she can always pull my 3NT.

And a 2nt rebid would show a balanced hand ?

No.

The question is, how would you bid a 54 hand with 19HCP?
And if your answer is, that you bid 2NT with 5422, you have still 5431
distributions. And 2NT is commonly played as NF.

If you have a bid besides 3H, than obv. you can expect more distribution,
but otherwise no.
There is a reason peoble play ... after a major suit opening and a 1NT response,
and having a way to faster show more distribution is one reason.
If 3H would show more distribution it is commonly played as NF.
With kind regards
Uwe Gebhardt (P_Marlowe)

Playing transfers over 1S-1N
1-1N
2 6 or Hearts & Spades strong - 2 forced
Now you have a whole range of bids to describe further say
2N UB 6
3 64xs/62(32)
3 SB 5422/6322
3 55xx
3 5413
3N 5431

You can now use 1-1NT-3 as an intermediate hand with 64xx
You can also fit the intermediate 55s in too.
