I would far prefer these for the daylongs where we play with bots.
Give me the 6 count with an 8 card suit KQJxxxxx not partner..
Give me the 2 count and I won't have the optimism when they compete over my partner's opening bid.
At least try this for one tournament and see how it goes.

A worst hand tournament?
Great idea.

No that is not what I specified. I asked for my bot partner to have the strongest hand instead of me.

how about either North or South have the best hand? The general idea of best hand tournaments is that the human usually gets to declare, because it's more fun and defending with robot partners is very frustrating. Along with human-declares, this gets the best of both worlds.

This definitely would make best hand robot tournaments more real life. The games would be a little harder because players can't make as many assumptions about partner's, and defenders' point counts.

Yes I do make assumptions. So if I have the best hand and 15 points and partner has opened the bidding, unless he has shape we are probably short for slam.
If partner has the best hand and I have 16 points anyway slam is probable.
If one of us unspecified has the best hand there are no such assumptions.
Still means though that my good hand where opponents intervene and bot partner either refuses to compete or punishes me for doing so won't change.
(You had 7 spades? How was I supposed to know that? And even if I'd worked it out and bid them on my doubleton you would have raised me to the roof).
