I'm helping at a local club, they are limping along running ACBLSCOR on a PC running Windows 10 Pro

After the latest windows update, ACBL Score no longer runs
"Access violation at address 004C34C1 in module WSCORE.EXE Read address FFFFFFFFFFF"

Does anyone have the same experience?
I've found this help, on the ACBL website.
Will I have to spend my Saturday afternoon trying to fix it, will the PC boot up at all afterwards?

Thanks!

The ironic aspect is that MS discontinued Win 10 support even against security vulnerabilities (unless you pay, and for one year only) yet still continue to update it arbitrarily causing similar problems. And quite a few old but high level PCs (like mine) running Win 10 are not eligible for Win 11 because their CPU is not listed even though it meets the declared requirements :( Will probably give in and buy a new PC (tablets are not for me), but I am sorely tempted to purchase a chromebook instead.

Our RA offers a fairly good and recent Win app for tournament admin, which so far seems happy on Win 10 (although I think that particular PC could be upgraded if necessary). But I would much rather have seen the software completely rewritten on a cloud basis which would have liberated us from the entire PC paradigm (the irony that PCs were invented to liberate us from the Mainframe/Client paradigm which is strikingly similar to cloud does not escape me, but still).

One problem with ACBL is that, afaik, if you're running an ACBL sanctioned game, you have no choice but to use their crappy software.

We are not running sanctioned games but it is standard for non sanctioned clubs to use the ACBL Score software, this is where the knowledge and experience is.
fwiw the software is running again, we did nothing to fix it.
