This evening I played #55065 (BBO ITALIA) Pairs ACT Bridge Roma and was dismayed to receive no response to any Director Call.
The first time I received the message "A Director is not available", the other three times not, but no call was acknowledged or handled.
None of the usual messages were sent in chat, apparently there was no Director at all.
I do not retain this acceptable for a paid tournament, particularly without any prior notice.

This means the tournament director has some sort of an unexpected issue -- its not something to be announced in advance. I've notified the club management to investigate what happened.

We are very sorry for what happened.

Rosalbacar was scheduled to direct this tournament, but unfortunately she had a sudden health issue at the last minute and was unable to inform me or any other tournament director so that a replacement could be arranged.

Players who regularly take part in BBOITALIA tournaments know that this is the first time in almost 20 years that a tournament has started without a director in charge.

For this reason, I have asked BBO to refund all participants.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see you soon at future BBOITALIA tournaments.

I can testify that I have never in the past had a similar experience, hence my surprise.
