I care about the friends I have made on BBO. Also, I am extremely concerned about the environment/ ecology/ wildlife/ the little planet that we call Earth. How much more of the world's habitat and food supply for animals do we plan on destroying. How many more wetlands are we going to drain, fill, and build on? How many more sand dunes are we going to knock down in the interests of high-rise hotels or luxury homes?

Is there any way to change what system, carding, or conventions the GIB bots play? According to the GIB website, the program can play several systems including 2/1, ACOL, & K-S. However, so far I haven't been able to determine the mechanism (if it exists on BO's version) for making such alterations. It also appears that the GIB is playing SAYC or some version of SAYC. However, so far, I have not been able to locate a default CC for the GIB. Are any of these nice options available for people using the GIB on BBO?

Thank you in advance:

GIB also plays MOSCITO...

Admittedly, they play Bo-Yin's Terrorist MOSCITO rather than the more enlightened version that other programs support, but its still MOSCITO...

With this said and done, I'd prefer to see the GIB's limited to playing a single system (don't care much which system), and efforts focused on making sure that they play this system as well as possible.

At the moment the BBO GIB is very much a plain vanilla flavour with no User options for changing systems or conventions. Since I bought GIB ( about 6 years ago) GIB bidding development was concentrated on its pet system of "standard with gadgets" ; this is a 2 over 1 GF system with various conventions. This might be what Fred has implemented initially.

Considerably less work went into the other systems although Moscito (Bo Yang's Terrorist version) received a lot of attention at one time. I think it was when Matt Ginsberg thought it was the system that would beat Zia - anyway it was good enough to won the World championship for GIB - but that was in the pre Jack era - and before Ginsberg really fell out with Al Levy the ACBL exec who organises the computer championships
