I'm thinking of going for 1000 in a day by 8 tabling BBO on a dual monitor set up. Will only do it if I can raise some serious $ for charity. What is the current record?

Assuming 5 min/hand, you can squeeze 288 in a day in a normal setup.

A group of English players achieved a record for a non-stop rubber bridge tournament. I can't remember how many hands it was (I didn't play), but it was over more than one day I believe.

Speaking of records at bridge:

In the 1989 Bermuda Bowl bridge tournament held in Perth, Australia, Marcel Branco and Gabriel Chagas, both of Brazil, played a record 752 out of a possible 784 boards.

A group of eight played 1000 hands over three days.

Some years ago, ,when my father was one of the very few teachers here, he was so full of classes (4 a day normally) that he would have to play/analyse around 80 boards/day in average for several months.
