What was wrong with clubs and read the CC partner - are not all doubles up to 4 for takeout

IMPs too of course but bad anyway you look at it

And as my partner you would know never to pass a double into game unless really sure, and I will hardly ever risk doubling into game either

I am this close to asking to play with the East bot

Hi,

what do you want to achieve with the double?
Partner is a passed and, this means you have at best 26HCP between you,
and the Queen of diamonds is part of those 26.
Partner wont have 44 in the majors with 8-10 either, he passed over 3D.

so in short: where do you want to go? Do you really want to play 4C, when
the opponents settled for 3D?
I am not defending pass, but I am doubting the wisdom of making the T/O
with your given hand, it may be a sensible auction playing MP,
at IMPs it is ...

With kind regards
Marlowe
