You should consider adding fit jumps to your bidding arsenal. Here is an example hand where taking advantage of this weapon would have been easy. Two pair out of 16 bid this slam.

Here is an interesting hand from BBO today. 6S by South is a nice contract. My partner and I quickly bid this one thanks to a bidding agreement we have. I can open this hand 2C, which is either showing a fair hand with 8 tricks in one major or the other (I counted this as 8... this is a minimum). Or, a balanced HUGE hand, or any true game force hand. Partner bid 2D which is almost automatic but as noted in another thread a long time ago, our 2H/2S responses are "drop dead" responses with 0 tricks for suit bid. Over 2D I bid 2S (forcing to 3S) and when partner bid 3S, he is showing slam try. I signed off with 4S, but with all kinds of possible tricks opposite 8 sure tricks in my hand, he bid 5D, I jump to slam… our auction..
P 2C
2D 2S
3S 4S
5D 6S

Actually my partner misbid. He should jump to 4D bid over 3S to show this hand, and our auction would be even shorter to slam.
The most common auction was…
P 1S
2S 4S yuck, not even a sniff of the slam
If you play drury, you have a shot here to bid the slam , but it is easier again if you use FIT JUMP by passed hand. The auction would be…. (not a single pair bid it this way. If I HAD opened 1S this would have been our auction).
P 1S
3D 4N
5H 6S
If you play the jump here as PREEMPTIVE, stop it. Both opponents have already passed, there is no need to play 3D as preemptive.
To BE FAIR, a few people had to deal with a tatical 3C bid by second hand. In each case, South bid 3S and in each case north bid 4S ending the auction. Here, north should use a FIT NON-JUMP of 4D to show this same type of hand. Again, the slam become very biddable.
Two other points about this hand. First the play. I got a club opening lead. Since I can score 6S and 5D plus a club, as long as I don't lose a SPADE to 4-0 split, I start spade ACE, then just pull trumps and take my 12 tricks. This way I don't risk a first round diamond hook. The only other pair to bid slam, got a diamond lead, and they played TWO rounds of diamonds before pulling all trumps (to manage a club ruff). Life isn't fair as diamonds splits so they took 13 tricks.
Second issue... since I am trying to learn the version of moscito system that Luis has posted on the web for BBO members to read, here is how that system would bid this hand (I think… Luis can correct this if I screwed it up).
1C 1S (1S = 4+hearts, 9+hcp)
1N 2C (2C = 4+diamonds)
2D 2H (2H=diamond longer than H)
2S 2N (2NT = club shortness)
3C 3D (3D = exactly 3-4-5-1)
3H 3N (3N = 3 Controls)
4C 4H (4H = no AorK hearts, +DA or K)
4S 5C (5C shows spade honor, denyC)
5D 5H (denies heart Queen)
6S
6S because parnter needs Diamond Queen for his 9 hcp min. Luis's moscito notes can be found at:
