At IMPS doubling to increase the penalty is fine.
At pairs doubling to increase the penalty just increases the volatility on the board, which you may or may not wish to do.

Of course, the big problem is that you don't have any diamonds to lead. So it'll be a club, and when partner asks "why didn't you lead a diamond?", I'll show him my hand....

If is mp...is important bid dbl on 6♠again because 50 points could be 70%...but 100 points could be 100% of top:)

I believe it is just possible to get a cross-ruff going on defense.

I knew I had seen this idea in print somewhere. Double and then double again to say "no, not the first lead I suggested". In Ewen was it? Doubles for Takeout, Penalties and Profits? I lost it years ago. Not intentionally, it was a good book.
I still voted for the heart lead. Partner is not supposed to assume I read and follow Ewen's book, and he is not supposed to give me some bizarre puzzle. Maybe Ewen is right, maybe he isn't, but partner said lead a heart when he doubled 5H and he is getting a heart.

Lukewarm is correct, there are general guidelines..all you are trying to do is alert partner to the fact that something unusual is called or depending what your agreements are.
when i had the hand that made the doubles, my thinking was I hope they respond 5 clubs then i can double for a club lead, but then i thought i can double five hearts and double final contract to say the same thing.
What i couldnt see, fromsome of the resposnes is why there would be two doubles to reconfirm the same thing to lead a heart.
what could have happened and didnt, was I could have ruffed the club leand and partner couldhave ruffed a diamond return....end of story

This is not this clear cut - first of all, if the vulnerability is white verses red the double of 5H could be based on long decent hearts, shape, and sacrifice asking. Even without that agreement, the double of 5H indicates a lead against 5S, not a slam. Perhaps partner hopes to get a high heart lead from KQ and give a suit preference, hoping to score 2 hearts and 1 ruff against 5S. But now that the opps have bid slam, only 2 tricks are needed - hence the second double should cancel the first and say - make an unusual non-heart lead, pard. I hope to ruff and cash the Ace of hearts.
