I think that E GiB actually deserves a compliment, for once.
Presumably he found partner's inability to raise diamonds with a hearts void as inexplicable as I do :)

At the other table (it was a robot challenge), South did not bid 3♥, so the auction died in 3♦. So I lost a bunch of IMPs on this one.

Overall fine bidding by GIB. 4♠ is exceptionally solid for GIB as not everybody (cough, cough, we're looking at you GIB West) knows there is a game bonus for bidding and making 4♠so East is fully justified to bid West's cards for them.
