The last 2 Mondays, I played in the Just Declare Free Daylong tournament. I was surprised to see that the preliminary matchpoint scores showed up after each board was completed. Is this an experiment, a new normal, or a glitch in the BBO software?

Standard Barometer Scoring for many MP and IMP games with Robots and virtual games with and without robots.

There are several Robot games that do not use Barometer scoring (Best Hand is one).
Ultra Relay: see Daniel's web page: https://bridgewithda...19/07/Ultra.pdf
C3: Copious Canape Club is still my favorite system. (Ultra upgraded, PM for notes)

Santa Fe Precision published 8/19. TOP3 published 11/20. Magic experiment (Science Modernized) with Lenzo. 2020: Jan Eric Larsson's Cottontail . 2020. BFUN (Bridge For the UNbalanced) 2021: Weiss Simplified (Canape & Relay). 2022: Canary Modernized, 2023-4: KOK Canape.

It's a new feature that we are experimenting with, for some of the daylongs.

Excellent idea.
Can it be included in the challenge area?

This wouldn't be a good idea - it would give far too great an advantage to the person playing the challenge second, knowing whether to play safe or not.

I meant, specifically, the challenges vs robot - where you can specify 'not best hand'.
Good practice (for me anyway).

Seems to come and go at random. My strong preference would be to use it always (at least for the daylongs).

It's not random, but we haven't enabled it for all daylongs.

It's enabled for the weekday free daylongs, the pay BBO and ACBL daylongs. But not the Super Sunday daylong. I don't remember if it's enabled for the two-day Saturday/Sunday tourneys.
