Divided (not in your case) by a common language, but also a different model of club.
Over here a club is not a business, but a no-profit with the only aim (at least nominally) of promoting the sport of bridge.
If it loses a player that quits in a huff because the rules were imposed, then so be it: both the club and its remaining players are probably better off.
