I have noticed that GIB with a decent 5-card suit often competes, when the opps have stopped in 2Ma, but this is the first time I have seen GIB bid on a 4-card suit at the 3-level

Ah, yes, it was from the dayly "Only declare" tournament, so all bidding is done by the bots

Interesting that basic GIB doesn't touch it on the practice table. Must be an 'advanced robot' thing.

I think all the "Declare only" boards are bid with the advanced robots

Yes, the database rule requires a 5 card suit, so nothing really buggy here. There'll always be rare cases where a smallish set of simulated deals leads GIB to a conclusion that is bad in the long run. Managed to replicate the 3 bid on the 19th attempt after it passed the first 18.
