1NT-(DBL)-?
Opps play DONT and DBL does show a 1-suiter.
What do you suggest for bids of responder? And is it the same after other DBL's over 1NT that are non-penalty?
Pass and bid later (eg: 1NT-(DBL)-Pass-(2C)-Pass-(2H)-2S)
REDBL
2C
...
(Remark: Over 1NT-(2x) we play rumpelsohl - combination of lebensohl and rubensohl)
=====================================================
PS: Normally (if DBL is 15-17) we play 1NT-(DBL)-2C , that 2C would be natural and weak. Now we had this bidding sequence where DBL did show 1-suiter. I was 1NT opener and passed because we did not have a specific agreement over the DONT dbl (and thinking partner could have redoubled with a strong hand). Partner did intend 2C as stayman and we missed a good slem. (Luckily the slem would be -1 because of bad distributions and 2C made).

XX=good hand, creates a force through 2N, all Xs after that are penalty.
pass then X=takeout
pass then 2M=4M and a side 5m.
immediate bids=systems on.

What he (she?) said.
sounds good to me, front of card with the above-noted exceptions. Important to get your suit and hand quality in before opps identify their suit: makes it riskier for the dblr to then bid his/her suit.

As long, as the Dbl does not show a specific
suit, this is probably best.
Assuming the Dbl shows a specific suit,
e.g. spade + another (4+,4+) (Lionel Defence),
one has to decide, if bidding the specified suit is
natural or not.
For simplicity reason I would treat the cue as
artificial, even in case the suit may only be a 4
carder.
