I realize, of course, I can simply use the "chat" button and type in the name in the "mail" field, which is what I do now. I'm just lazy enough to want a shortcut

Click on name in no-chat situation sends mail?

Sometimes when kibitzing a friend in a tournament I want to send a mail message (i.e. for the friend to read later, after the tournament is over, e.g. a comment on a specific board). The default for left-clicking on a name e.g. in the lobby is to send chat; would it be difficult for the default for left-clicking on a name in someone in a no-chat situation be to mail instead of chat? Or to have "send mail" as a right-click option?

I had suggested this earlier, OK, I go one more time.
Mail can be seen only when you log out and log in again. How about dumping the mail content to one's private chat once your status changes ( eg. no longer a tournament player, or inbetween rounds in a Clocked Tourney)
This way, you receive the mail without log out and logging in.
Ideally if the mail is received as a different colour private message it will be useful, better still if a time stamp can accompany it.
Alternatively, have another box on the right ( like Chat, Lobby, Tables,Tourney) called Mail box made active only during those time when you are not in tourney. The No. on the box to indicate the No. of unread messages.

I have a small another suggestion.
Could the "chat to:" combobox allow to write any name into?
Now I can select one option or click on the nick,
but sometimes I would like to chat to someone,
who is playing on the other table.
I must click on the list of tables/lobby and search his name...
