BPO-003C: 2NT

Opposite a sound 1D opening as is normally used in 2/1 and K-S I'd be happy yo force to game. 12 opposite 12 (event 11 opposte 12 has great playing potential) However, earlier polls have clearly demonstrated that BBO Advanced players like to hear themselves bid regard of the stress this places on the rest of the system. Here I'm going to be forced to invite.

I'm bidding 2NT and inviting 3N opposite a suitable max. Please note that 2NT is forward going and NOT an attempt to improve the contract. I'll happily pass with a 4=4=0=5 minimum and trust partner had his 2D rebid.

2NT

11 HCP and stoppers everywhere so quite a natural bid imo.

2NT, though I was tempted to pass. But we could easily be making game if partner has a good hand for the bidding so far, so I can't justify a pass.

2NT.
One more would have been better, but it could well be 3NT if partner's are solid.

if my 5 of diamonds was yet another 3 or 2, I might pass, but the 5 has convinced me that bidding is right :)

My partner had this hand at the table, and I can tell you that the diamond spot is quite irrelevant. :)
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Pass
Out on that cold, lonely limb. I hope p would have opened 1nt with 14 hcp and 6D, semibalanced.

Not the first or last time I miss NV IMP game with this hand type B)

Opp's love to balance, maybe we can get another chance or crack them.

Pass.

Total misfit - not sure about diamonds as a trick source and my intermediates aren't great.

I care about the friends I have made on BBO. Also, I am extremely concerned about the environment/ ecology/ wildlife/ the little planet that we call Earth. How much more of the world's habitat and food supply for animals do we plan on destroying. How many more wetlands are we going to drain, fill, and build on? How many more sand dunes are we going to knock down in the interests of high-rise hotels or luxury homes?

I guess that justin would still be in the tank if the diamond 5 was the diamond 4.

An easy pass for me. 11 HCP but subtract at least a point for the sfiff which is always a liability in NT--here it makes it much harder to run partner's diamonds than if you had xx. So with at best a bad 10, pass is obvious--game is unlikely and partner's diamonds will pull more weight if they are trumps. Wouldn't surprise me if pass was the only plus score.

Very close between pass and 2NT. Pass may very well be the winner. I don't like 32, 32, 32 much, but you will probably see that when Ben decides to publish the panel's votes.
