I'm not sure about this but I suspect that GIB has a limited number of explanations available and just picks the one that most closely matches the bid.
With simple auctions this usually works fine, but as things get more complicated things sometimes gang aft agley.

Crazy. Have often seen it 'deny' an control despite having it because the bid of that suit would have meant something else.. but when it has a perfect 4 (and it's described as such) this makes no sense at all.
