does BBO use the acbl formula for computing victory points as describe in
http://web2.acbl.org.../CHAPTER12F.pdf
does each board get its own VP's? is there no input from the scores of the other teams?

I suspect that BBO does use the ACBL VP20 and VP30 scales, in the sense that when I've checked an event it has corresponded to this.

These scales translate the IMP difference over ALL the boards in the match into victory points. So if you have six-board matches in your Swiss Teams event and a team beats another team by 10 imps to 6 imps over the five boards, this will be converted to 12-8 VP.

In a Swiss Teams tournament, only the scores between your team and your opponents in that round matter. The scores in the other matches are irrelevant.

I don't work for BBO and any advice is based on my BBO experience over the decades

Victory points are calculated for each match, not each board, just like in f2f Swiss Teams.

The tourney host can choose between the 20 and 30 point scales.
