With the new ACBL alert procedures going into effect at the start of the year (documented here), pre-alerts are going to become much more common (any artificial and/or forcing 1-level opening bid requires one, including Precision). It would be nice if there was a way to add a section on the convention card for pre-alerts and have this automatically displayed, either in chat or as a notification that there are pre-alerts the opponents may wish to look at before the first hand is displayed. Otherwise, it requires typing (or copy/paste) in private chat to both opponents every round, and this cannot always be done quickly before the auction starts.

Awaiting the BBO response (if ever) consider installing the BBOalert extension (Firefox or Chrome) :

https://addons.mozil.../addon/bboalert
https://chrome.googl...lkeemegdhehnlcf

This extension reduces manual alerting to the strict minimum. We use the multiline text shortcut feature for pre-alerts. Sample of our pre-alert code :

BBOalert
Shortcut,ww,Welcome; we use very simple but unusual scheme:\n\
opening 1x in double Texas (1C=4+!H;1D=4+!S;1H=5+!C or balanced;1S=5+!D)\n\
1st response=relay or Texas. Then natural. We hope you do not mind. Thanks.\n\
Full CC https://drive.google...ew?usp=sharingn\
Lead 3rd/5th; Sequence:top(NT); Rousinov(suit). Discard:odd=encouraging.\n\
On partner’s lead:small=encouraging\n\
First italian discard (odd=encouraging)\n\

The result after typing ww as chat input :

https://drive.google...iew?usp=sharing

You are free to choose any string instead of ww. Shortcuts are also accessible as buttons.

The main function of BBOalert is to record your alerts and replay them automatically when the identical bidding context occurs.

See the project page for the complete description of BBOalert.

You can use Chat Manager for a common pre-alert.
