Why do some of the people I have friended show up with a bright blue button and others are a gray button? What to the different colors mean, and are there other colors I haven't seen yet?
Also, I read in a 2012 discussion that BBO had "categories" available but the instructions given in the discussion don't work now. Are categories still available, and if so, how do we use them?
Thanks for any and all replies.

Blue means that the user also follows you.

Grey means that the user does not follow you back.

Categories were supported in previous BBO clients, but not in the current client.

I don't work for BBO and any advice is based on my BBO experience over the decades

If you are 'blue' then you will both know when you are both online.
Recently I have noticed a certain 'stickiness' with the database. If I 'follow' someone to see if they are following me, then return their status to neutral if they are not, then it can often be quite difficult to get the server to 'unglue'.
Sometimes I have had to ignore first then return to neutral. Not sure if others have had this problem.

If it is Grey, the text is 'follow', if it is Blue, the text is 'Friend' - which all ties in with what has been typed above.
