I appreciate I could have doubled or somehow mentioned my hearts but you somehow miss spades with those options too. If you bid hearts North seems to prefer that as a contract :(

I appreciate that the West bot threw a spanner in with cue bids (which I dislike intensely) but still

Are West bots more competitive than North bots?

What are you suggesting? That North make an unfavourable sacrifice? Works OK here because you have K. If you have neither that nor A (or K with A onside) it will be too expensive. Looks a little like resulting to me.

Well, it does seem odd for someone to open a 1 loser 8 cd suit then decide to never bid again. Surely it's worth bidding at least 3S over 2S?

GIB doesn't count losers; 3 is 15+ total points and its horrible evaluation method says it has 14. And that a jump to 4 is 22.

Not so much resulting as thinking how I would have bid and every human North bid. Maybe it's a problem with the bidding system :)

And the thought that West bid our suit twice without any interference from North at all

I think that your bidding was fine.
North's on the other hand was questionable.

Biding hearts wouldn't have occured to me with such a weak suit.
X is vaguely tempting, however, I don't think that you are quite strong enough

Honestly, North just has a measly 11 HCP and a broken 8 card suit. This is barely even worth 1 bid and GIB put its life on the line by opening the bidding. I wouldn't expect GIB to do anything more. Well done by North to even get into the bidding.
