The hand in question
How often has this sort of thing occurred? Any thoughts on what is going on?

I don't see how GIB can possibly bid at the 5 level with only 17 HCP. Besides that, there may be a bad club break B-) Outstanding defense to hold 4 to only 10 tricks. Lesser defenders would allow 11 or 12 tricks.

GIB just doesn't know how to bid freak hands. I think I've posted in the past that it won't even get there with 13 solid spades.

Wow, I hadn't seen this one. It easily makes the top 1% of my "Terrible Bids" list. It should be submitted to support...not that it would do any good. These incidents wouldn't be so bad if someone could fix them, but they can not. This is the #1 problem with GIB, by far. You can't take it to the garage and fix it. It is what it is, and you can take it or leave it. That's their attitude. They don't even try to pretend any more.
