Why the number of online people change?

The problem is ,for example, when I log in and reach Bridge Base Online Home, the number of online people is 9000. But when I click the 'Casual' buttom, the number of online people changes to 3500, and I can't find some of my friends who is actually playing in the Main Bridge Club.

I use the latest Html5 web version of BBO, and I find the same problem didn't show up in the old Flash version.

Because there are 2 servers, one for casual and one for the rest. Those on one can't see those on the other.

And if you try and use the old Flash version you will have real problems.
