Player profile shows Offline but player is playing

Before our tournament this evening two of the registered players, in two different pairings, were shown as Offline in the profile when clicking on the username in the list of registered players.

The tournament started with any error messages although +allavail+ was entered into the description

When the pairs with the two players arrived at my table, I clicked on their seat and their profile showed Offline although they were present at our table, bidding, playing and chatting as normal

Why would their profile show Offline when they were actually online?

They had probably logged in as invisible.
