BBO's new server has increased capacity. Does that mean that it's now possible to play team matches during the evening in Europe? We used to get error messages if we tried to start a match between 7pm and 9pm UK, which is 2pm to 4pm EST, I think.
Have other restrictions been lifted now? (For example, the rule that you couldn't create a team match unless you had 100+ logins.)

We've seen that it is a lot better during 7-9pm BST over the last week.

I don't work for BBO and any advice is based on my BBO experience over the decades

None of the restrictions have been lifted. The restrictions on new players have been around for many years and have nothing to do with capacity.

I don't think it's been "impossible" to play team matches between 7pm and 9pm UK, because I've been playing in some.
It did get very hard to start them for a while, but was possible.

Now it is much easier.

Unlike free tournaments which are cancelled at start via a server setting, team matches were never subjected to a "controlled" limitation.

When there are too many tables, team matches fail to be created. If the host keeps trying, eventually they will succeed. So it just depends on how many tables and whether there are free "slots" to create more.

Now that there are two servers and pressure on the main server was relieved, it's less likely to have so many tables in play that there's no room to start more. Hence, you should be able to start your team matches without issues, or much easier in any case.

The limitations imposed on new users were there for many years and have nothing to do with capacity. We made an intentional decision at the time to reserve this advanced feature until newcomers gather some experience with the site and will be more likely to figure out what's going on and how to create their match. There are a few other limitations on newcomers, typically aimed at discouraging returning abusers from coming back with a new username and be disruptive.

Is there any indication yet of a timetable for the removal of the time restrictions on free tournaments?
The pressure in BBO's capacity at the restricted times appears to have substantially reduced :)
