Because the new server configuration is playing havoc with the flash version, I find myself compelled to move to the web version, a move I have been putting off because the web version doesn't support categories. A (poor) workaround would be to have multiple user names, something I'm reluctantly willing to do, but before I do so want to make sure that using my same name and email address to create an account won't remove the original account. I don't need to be signed on more than once, but if I can create specialized user names with a select group followed I can muddle through.

Can someone confirm I can do so? TIA

There's no problem with having multiple accounts.

Set one up. I hope it will help me cope with the loss of categories :(

Originally said I didn't need to log in simultaneously, that was before the casual / competitive split. Now it would be useful, but not often enough (at least not right now) to warrant permissioning of such.

Thx

If you do this, it certainly defeats the purpose of the split (to make room in the main server, which was at capacity in peak times).

Also, are you sure that this is true barmar? This is a quote from the BBO terms of service:
"You may use this Software on a single computer, and you may transfer it to another computer so long as it is used on only one computer at a time." http://online.bridge...com/v2/tos.html
This seems to imply that if somebody were to have a second user name and login on a second device then that would be a breach. For pretty obvious reasons!
It seems to me that the advice that a person can use two or more usernames ought to be taken with caution. But then I'm not a lawyer, so what would I know?

There is not problem with having multiple accounts.

Using them at the same time, as you mention, is a different issue.

As long as you're not using multiple accounts to cheat, e.g. kibitzing your own table with the second account, we're not going to enforce that clause.
