I have just started to play on BBO tables, and I am a bit confused about the display of the IMP scoring. On the right side of the screen. under History, I get the IMPS for both sides, on each board, and at the bottom there are the totals. Then on the left side of the screen there is a panel headed IMPS showing the net difference . But this net difference is not the same as the number you get when you subtract the two totals shown under History. They are often close, but never seem to be exactly the same. Is it that one of these figures is more up to date, and if so which one? I understand that the IMP scoring can change as more people play the board.

They'll be different if you join a table after it has played some hands. The total on the left is for hands played since you joined, the total on the right is for all the tables shown.

That's what I thought until today. I sat a a new table, i.e. started playing board 1. The score on the left never matched the score shown in the history window.

Yeah, I was wrong.

I'm not really sure where thw two numbers come from, and compared to all the things we're dealing with, it's not high on my priority list.
