Hi all.
I'm a newb of Linux ubuntu 5.04. I've tried to run BBO using winex3 as emulator with these results:
1) it starts! but..
2) in the bid box and in chat symbols are not visible (ie: clubs are displayed as § and so on)
3) chatting in lobby doesn't work
4) the menu bar is on top of windows (hiding partially partner's cards) and flickering
Gerardo, please, how did you managed it!
Does anybody have any advice?
Thankyou in advance
Marco

Hi Gerardo,
do the guys at Transgaming know about the flaws using BBO with Cedega? Have you given a report to them or should I contact them? I installed it yesterday and found it working as you described. Is there some inkling to the cause?
BTW, BBO complains about missing atl.dll when trying to show the online news. Can I use the one from any Windows installation?
Bye

Not sure they know, it is an old bug, Wine used to have it but they fixed it.
About atl.dll, not sure if it comes with Windows, but other products (Visual Studio?).
Even with atl.dll, will keep complaining, unless you install IE (on Cedega), or the ActiveX control for Mozilla.

Ok, I'll contact the Transgaming support. If it's an old bug that was fixed some time ago, maybe they'll do it once more.
I tried an atl.dll from Windows XP. There's an error message at the very start of BBO saying that it is a Unicode version not apt to work with Windows 95. I leave it as it is. It's marginal.

ps: don't wonder about my 2 different accounts. There was a problem with my provider. The registration validation e-mail was taken for spam and deleted. So I had a second try. But somehow or other both of them came through a lot later.

No, Cedega forked from Wine, then Wine fixed it (try it, that bug is not there, but you can't talk with others), but not Cedega.
atl.dll: tell Cedega to emulate Win2000+

Thanks, atl.dll works with "-winver win2000" (small w!).
Now I'm trying to find some kind of support site or forum at Transgaming's. I definitely stumbled over one a few days ago, but it seems to be lost somehow.
